Cupcake toppers are a delightful touch that can make your cupcakes look even more adorable and personalized. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to easily assemble your printable toppers so that you can give your party a unique and special flair.
Materials You’ll Need:
- Printable cupcake toppers (available for download in our store)
- Thick paper or cardstock (we recommend 180 to 220 g/m²)
- Scissors or a circle cutter
- Wooden sticks (like skewers or cocktail sticks)
- Hot glue gun, glue stick or double-sided adhesive
Step 1: Download and Print the Toppers
The first thing you need to do is download the printable toppers from our store. Make sure to print them at the right size (usually an 8.5″ x 11″ or A4 sheet). Use a color printer to ensure the colors are vibrant and sharp.
Tip: If you want your toppers to be more durable, you can opt for photo paper or cardstock.
Step 2: Cut Out the Toppers
Once your toppers are printed, it’s time to cut them out. You can use scissors, but if you want cleaner cuts, we recommend using a circle cutter. If your toppers are square or rectangular, simply cut them by hand with scissors.
Step 3: Prepare the Sticks
Now that your toppers are ready, take your wooden sticks. If you’re using long sticks (like skewers), cut them down so they’re not too tall for the cupcakes. Cocktail sticks are perfect if you prefer something smaller.
Step 4: Attach the Toppers to the Stick
Use a bit of glue or double-sided adhesive to attach the topper to the stick. Place the stick in the center of the back of the topper, ensuring it’s well-centered.
Tip: If you want a more professional finish, you can glue a second topper to the back to cover the stick.
Step 5: Place on Your Cupcakes!
Once all your toppers are assembled, it’s time to place them on your cupcakes! Carefully insert them into the center of the cupcakes, making sure they don’t fall over. Now your cupcakes are ready to be the star of the party!
Extra Tips!
- If you want to add a little extra touch, you can sprinkle edible glitter on the toppers.
- For added stability, you can use more than one stick per topper if they are larger or heavier.
